Island Endurance is a weekly run club based in Victoria, BC, meeting every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. Centrally located and easy to access from anywhere in the city, Cedar Hill is a great hub for runners coming from all parts of Victoria and the surrounding area.
The group is built around what I like to call an intensity run—the kind of workout that helps you get fitter, faster, and more resilient. Expect structured sessions like intervals, fartleks, hill sprints, and threshold runs. In other words, this is your classic “hard day” of the week, done with purpose and a plan.
Island Endurance is best suited for runners in Victoria who can comfortably run 5–10 km and are looking to improve their speed and performance. Whether you’re training for local races like the Victoria Half, Times Colonist 10K, trail races on Vancouver Island, or simply want to get stronger for your everyday running, this session fits right in.
The club is coached by Jacob of Run Forever Coaching, a Victoria-based running coach. That means you’re not just showing up for a tough workout—you’re getting experienced coaching, feedback, and structure in a supportive local running community.
One of the standout features of Island Endurance is the group itself. We typically have 7–10 runners each week, which keeps the atmosphere friendly and welcoming while still being performance-focused. Workouts start with a group warm-up, often looping through nearby paths and roads around Cedar Hill, before moving into the main intensity session. Most weeks, the workout is done on short loops so everyone stays connected and no one gets left behind.
If you’re a runner in Victoria, BC looking for a challenging midweek workout, accountability, and a solid crew to train with, Island Endurance is a great fit.
